•  Team Goals for 2017

We are all looking forward to an exciting year ahead. Check out our resolutions for 2017:

Kevin West: “To be the top boutique law firm in Canada for corporate transactions and to make SkyLaw a great place to work. 2017 will be a big year as SkyLaw continues to grow, I settle into my new home that is a 3-minute walk from the office, and our family will be growing this summer!”

Andrew Cooley: “In 2017, I look forward to growing my knowledge and skills and building on the platforms at SkyLaw to adapt to the changing legal services industry.  I also hope to improve my golf game and pick up at least one new hobby (yet to be determined – I’m open to suggestions!).”

Andrea Hill: “I am excited by the wonderful business development opportunities at SkyLaw, especially in the fast-growing regulated marijuana industry. My goals in 2017: I hope not to spill a single drop of coffee on anyone all year, determine why no printer will print for me past 7:00 pm, and join a board.”

Nina Lavoie: “As the newest member of the SkyLaw team, I look forward to contributing to the firm’s innovative approach. As a first-year associate, my main goal for 2017 is to hit the ground running and learn as much as possible from my colleagues. As a newly minted Torontonian, I look forward to developing a strong professional network in the region.”

Devi Panday: “We have some great projects for 2017 to expand our corporate services department, in addition, I will be completing more SEDAR filings and getting more experience with other securities law matters.  I hope to learn how to ice skate this winter so that I can finally enjoy Canadian winters.”

Jen Semple: “In 2017, approaching my fifth year at the firm, I will continue to contribute to SkyLaw’s overall growth and development. I will be taking a more active role in achieving client satisfaction and building the infrastructure for our team to be increasingly efficient and responsive. I also plan to have more self-control re: the candy at our reception desk.”

Anita Marelic: “I am taking some time off to travel home to Australia for the first time in four years. I have promised to bring back TimTams for everyone in the office. For 2017, my goals are to keep the office organized and to learn a Canadian accent so that Michael Peterson stops asking people if they’d like him to help translate my Australian.”

Andrew Cooley was recently interviewed for Precedent Magazine (Winter 2016) about the use of Slack, a popular chat app, in our law firm. Slack has been adopted by our entire team as an alternative to email for the majority of our internal chatter. Check out the link below to hear the full story:
