Michael is a senior corporate and securities law practitioner with significant experience advising on high profile M&A and capital market transactions.
Having spent the better part of his career advising clients at major international law firms in London, UK, Michael rejoined SkyLaw in 2022, bringing a broad mix of expertise in leading the growth and development of the firm‚ corporate services offering to its clients.
Michael also strongly believes in the use of cutting-edge legal technology to lower the cost and enhance the delivery of legal services. He recently spearheaded the design and deployment of SkyLaunch, an innovative online platform for company formations and maintenance. As part of the LSO's "Access to Innovation" program, SkyLaunch seeks to help budget-conscious entrepreneurs realize their dreams of starting a business without sacrificing the quality of legal services they need.
While not working on business and client matters, he likes cooking up a good meal for his family and enjoying the company of friends over a “wee tipple” (as they say in ol’ Blighty).
Obtained a B.Sc (Honours) in Life Sciences at Queen's University
Qualified in Ontario and had my first court appearance (as counsel and not defendant!)
Partnered with Kevin West at SkyLaw
Moved back to London and rejoined White & Case
Moved to Ashurst to help build a high yield bond practice
Obtained a NY Bar qualification
Moved to Alston & Bird to help build their London office
Returned home to Toronto to rejoin SkyLaw, and launched SkyLaunch, an innovative online incorporations and compliance platform
